After diagnosis, how do we heal? This class continues the study of the Explanatory Tantra with the principles and methods of healing.

We will study Chapter 27 to Chapter 30 of the Explanatory Tantra:

  • Principles of treatment
  • Treatment in special cases
  • Two Treatment methods - Strengthening & Fasting
  • Treatment for the three nyepa

The course consists of six 2-hr online class (Total 12 hours). 
It will be conducted in English.

Recordings will be available for six months.

Prerequisite

All students must complete TibMET 1 & 2/ TTM 1 - Elements & Root Tantra or its equivalent to receive certification.

*Students without prerequisite may attend as auditors


Certificate of Completion

Graduates who complete TibMET levels 1 through 7 are certified with a Sorig Khang International Diploma of Advanced Studies in Tibetan Medicine & External Therapies (DAS in TibMET).

Graduates who complete TTM levels 1 through 5 are certified with a Sorig Khang International Diploma of Advanced Studies in Traditional Tibetan Medicine (DAS in TTM).

A Certificate of Attendance in Base of Treatment will be granted by Sorig Khang Singapore upon completion of all lessons, and completion and passing grade of all quizzes and homework assignments in this course. Student must complete the content within six months of the start of the course.

Medical Director

Dr. Nida Chenagtsang

Dr. Nida was born in a yurt in Amdo, in Eastern Tibet. Interested in the traditional healing science of his people, he began his early medical studies at the local Sorig hospital. Later he gained scholarship entry to Lhasa Tibetan Medical University, where he completed his medical education in 1996. Dr. Nida completed his practical training at the Sorig hospitals in Lhasa and Lhoka. Alongside his medical education, Dr. Nida received complete Vajrayana Buddhist training in the Longchen Nyingthing and Dudjom Tersar traditions and trained in the Yuthok Nyingthig lineage, spiritual counterpart to Sorig, with his teachers Khenchen Troru Tsenam and Khenpo Tsultrim Gyaltsen. He received the transmission with the empowerment to teach and further transmit the Hayagriva Tantra and the Yuthok Nyingthig from Khedrup Michötsang. He has published many articles and books on Sorig. He has extensively researched ancient Tibetan healing methods, and has gained high acclaim in the East and West for his revival of traditional Tibetan external healing therapies. Dr Nida is the Co-Founder and Medical Director of SKẎ, Sorig Khang International (formerly IATTM, International Academy for Traditional Tibetan Medicine). He is also the Co-Founder of the International Ngak Mang Institute, established to preserve and maintain the Rebkong Ngakpa yogic culture within modern Tibetan society. Dr. Nida trains students in Sowa Rigpa and the Yuthok Nyingthig spiritual tradition in over 40 countries around the world. Living in Rome, Italy, he frequently returns to Tibet, to stay informed of, and assist with, the advancement of Tibetan medicine.

Jacqueline Yu

JACQUELINE YU is the co-founder of Basic Essence holistic wellness centre in Singapore since 1999 and is the Founding Member/President of Sorig Khang Singapore, founded in 2008 to preserve and promote the ancient healing arts of Sowa Rigpa. In 2000, she met her root dharma teacher, the late Ngakpa H.E. Ralo Rinpoche and his son, H.E. Khyungtrul Rinpoche, beginning her path in Vajrayana. And after meeting and learning from Dr. Nida Chenagtsang since 2008, her root teacher in Sowa Rigpa and Yuthok Nyingthig tradition, the spiritual practice of Tibetan medicine and completed her internship in Qinghai Tibetan Hospital, Xining and Malho Tibetan Medicine Hospital in 2011. Jacqueline is currently Sorig Khang International's Senior Generalised Teacher with specialization in Ku Nye, traditional Tibetan massage & other external therapies. As a therapist for the past 24 years, Jacqueline has her own private practice providing treatments on a daily basis and as a trainer, she has trained many students and therapists in healing and massage in the Asia region. A practitioner of Yuthok Nyingthig, Jacqueline is also a guide for Medicine Buddha Healing, Mantra Healing, Nejang and Yuthok Nyingthig retreats. Jacqueline leads groups on yoga & spiritual retreats around Asia. Since 2015, Jacqueline is also the coordinator for Sorig Aid, organizing free medical camps in Nepal and around the world, putting her compassion into action. In 2017, she received the Yuthok Sowa Rigpa Award for her great contribution towards Sorig Aid project in Nepal during the 5th International Congress on Sowa Rigpa held in Kathmandu.
