Tibetan Language Teacher

Chok Tenzin Monlam Peltsok

During the last two decades, Dr Chok did an extensive research on teaching Tibetan as a second language. The result of this research work forms the basis for the course that you now see here. This research has been motivated by a number of recurring problems that he has observed in both native speaking and foreign students of Tibetan. He wrote two language books for the beginners: Speak Fluent Tibetan and Standard Tibetan Pronunciation. The first one was published and its third edition is available online. The second book is not yet published but its photocopies are widely. He will teach using materials from these two books. Dr. Chok is also a long time practitioner of Buddhist meditation and Tibetan yoga after receiving intensive training on meditation, yoga, and other healing methods from many great masters of the Tibetan Buddhist schools and also of the Bon and Indian traditions. He has traveled to over fifteen countries spreading this ancient knowledge. He has translated more than thirty books and many articles into English and Tibetan.
