Dr. Tenzin Thaye

Dr. Tenzin Thaye was born in Chutsang, Amdo Ngapa prefecture in Tibet and accomplished his medical studies in the reputed Tibetan Autonomous Ngapa Medical School. Dr. Thaye also studied traditional Chinese healing method of Acupuncture besides modern allopathic medicinal fields like physiology and pathology. After his arrival in exile in India in 1987, Dr. Thaye studied Tibetan medicine again extensively in Mentsee Khang and was awarded Kachupa degree and eventually became chief resident doctor of branch clinics in the north eastern state in India in 1992 and served until 1997 when he was appointed the post of deputy director of the Pharmaceutical department at the headquarter of Mentsee Khang in Dharamsala. He also received the Medicine of doctor, MD degree in 2011. In 2012, Dr. Thaye was appointed as one of the visiting physician of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and still holds that highly respectable position. Dr. Thaye frequently participates and represents Sowa Rigpa in various international conferences and exhibitions and does extensive outreach tours to Switzerland, France, United States, Australia, Russia, Taiwan, Singapore, Thailand, etc. Currently residing in Dharamsala, Dr. Thaye practices and treats many patients and continues to contribute significantly to bring the benefits of Sowa Rigpa globally, thereby making it available, accessible, acceptable and adaptable around the world.
